After several months of trying... trying... getting very close... then trying again, I am proud to announce to the world that Mason is now officially potty trained! (cue the hallelujah chorus). If you have kids, or have ever changed a diaper... you know what I am talking about. Woohoo!
Now that he is potty trained, I have been asked by a few people... "How did you do it?" "Can you come over and do that for my kid?" Well... I don't think Val and I have the secret, I just think it was time... and Mason wanted to be a big boy. Of course Val and I gave lots of encouragement, every day, but I think it was just his time. I will say that our first time in public with no diaper on was perhaps one of the more stressful Saturdays of my life. Val and I kept giving each other very nervous looks, wondering if Mason was going to wait until we were in the middle of the grocery store check-out line to 'let go' - making sure that we would have to change grocery stores for at least a year. Luckily that never happened. We've had a few accidents, but nothing horrific.
Now that potty-training has happened, Mason is sure to tackle calculus next month! :-)
